Hey y'all! Today I will be analyzing and researching different title sequences for my final task. Title sequences are important for films because they set the tone for the film. These opening sequences usually set the mood that the director wants to convey to the audience. For this reason, I decided to research more on title sequences because this is very important and helpful. Instead of trying to watch a plethora of movies on different streaming platforms, I chose one website that can do it all. This website is called, "Art of the Title Website", and it allows myself to research different title sequences with ease. The 'Art of the Title Website' provides you with different genres, the website is free to use, and extremely easy to navigate. Movie Research: Fractured

Image
Hey y'all! Today I will be researching and analyzing the movie 'Fractured' directed by Brad Anderson: What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? The conventions that I am basing my final task on that this movie has are the props and dark lighting. This movie includes different props and dark lighting in the main setting throughout the entire movie. For this reason, I decided to chose this movie to evaluate. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked? I liked how the movie was edited throughout the entire movie. At the end the movie shows how the main character was hallucinating the whole time through an image shift. I definitely want to see if I can some of those editing techniques in my final task. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task? There are no conventions of the genre that the movie had that did no

Movie Research: Get Out

Hey y'all! Today I will be researching and analyzing the movie 'Get Out' directed by Jordan Peele: What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? One of the conventions of this genre that I chose is the props that the characters use. There are different props throughout the movie that create symbolize for the movie. For instance, there is a scene where the daughter Rose keeps her White milk separate from her colored cereal and the film closes-up on it. This scene symbolizes how Rose likes keeping things separate. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked? I like the different costumes throughout this movie. I feel like the costumes help to build the characters and tension throughout the movie. For instance, when the main character of the movie meets the parents of Rose the audience can get like this weird vibe. However, the audience may never get a weird vibe from Rose (who is supposed to be the main cha

Movie Research: Us

Hey y'all! Today I will be researching and analyzing the movie 'Us' directed by Jordan Peele: What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? The conventions of this genre that I chose to base my final task on are the non-diegetic/diegetic sounds, dark lighting, and props. When I watched this movie I looked for all of the conventions that I may need to include in my final task opening sequence. This was a easy task since this is my favorite movie. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked? Throughout the movie, there was use of a lot of non-diegetic sounds. One of the beginning scenes of the movie includes a wide shot of bunnies in their cages and an interesting choice of background music. I feel like that scene created a weird vibe for the audience, almost building the suspense and curiosity for the movie. Additionally, I loved how the costumes of the "Untethered" characters looked creepy and t

My Pitch Blog

Image
Hey y'all! Today I will be introducing my pitch idea for my final task project.  Pitch A: A character wakes up with a knife in the hand and blood all over them but does not know what happened Pitch B: A character gets into an accident and is now able to hear other peoples thoughts. Discuss Pitch A: Pitch A will be a lot easier to produce and record when its time to start filming. Having that mystery of trying to figure out why something happened I think is more interesting than Pitch B. This pitch would be more of a mystery and thriller type of film. Overall, I think this pitch might be easier to get different scenes and footage for. Discuss Pitch B: I think Pitch B is an interesting idea but I feel it will be hard to convey this pitch to the audience. I know this final task does not include the main storyline of the movie but I still want the opening to relate to the storyline. Additionally, I didn't know if I would want The storyline genre to be a comedy or a mystery. Overa

Group Blog

Image
Hey y'all! Today I will be explaining the structure of my "Me, Myself and I" group. I decided for my final task that I will be working by myself. Doing group work use to be a struggle and something I hated to do in my earlier years of high school. My biggest struggle was overcoming my social anxiety. Presenting, group assignments and greeting people tend to trigger my anxiety. This is why I tried to get out of group work whenever I could. I had to learn how to work with all types of people and people with different work ethics. I have worked with helpful, dominant, and creative members. However, I have worked with rude, lazy, and close-minded members. Over time, I realized that working by myself is a lot easier and takes up less time. Working with group members, I would want everyone to feel included and heard. For this reason, I feel it can take a lot of time away from actually completing the assignment. Another reason I want to work alone is because either I would hav

Hey y'all! Welcome back to Alivia's blog life . I am starting a new project this time but let me remind you about me.  To start off, I live with both of my parents, sister, brother, and grandmother. Even though they can be annoying, my family is everything to me.  Following, dancing is one of my passions in life. I have been dancing since I could walk, and it's something that gives me joy. I am currently one of the captains of the dance team at my high school, and so far, I am loving it. Not only do I dance at school, but I dance at my church. I go to abundant life church, and I have been attending this church since I was a kid. Additionally, I'm a co-captain of the dance ministry at my church. One thing that I love about dancing is choreographing. With choreographing, there is no wrong or right answer, it just feels natural. Other things that I love about dancing are performing and competing. It feels nice to have the spotlight on me every once and a while. Even thou
