Reflection

Alivia Ross AICE Media Studies REFLECTION Throughout this process I have learned abundantly. One of the most intriguing aspects about film where the different angles and shots that I learned how to film. My favorite angle to record from was a high angle and my favorite shot to record was the two-shot. Trying to film different angles for this project was honestly an amazing experience. Even though, I was not able to accurately execute some of the shots that I wanted to record, I still enjoyed the results of my project. I knew before I started this process what editing software that I was going to use. Knowing what editing software that I would use beforehand was a lifesaver. It allowed the actually filming process to be my primary focus and not have to waste time testing a variety of editing software’s. The editing software that I used was CapCut. I already knew how to use this software, but I did have to learn how to do certain things. I learned how to add transitions and insert

Hey y'all! Today I have the last bit of information about my production process. My goal for this production day was to start and finish the editing process. First, I recorded some retakes and extra clips that I might need for my commercial.  I decided to rerecord some scenes with my friends. Additionally, I recorded some fun, random moments throughout my day. After I felt satisfied with all of the footage that I recorded then I moved on to the editing process. Before I started editing, I decided to choose my background song. I made a list of possible choices, crossed some out and choose my final three. I decided that I was not going to make a definite decision on my background song choice until my commercial is completely finished. My final three song choices are 'Sittin' On Top Of The World' by Burna Boy, 'Solid' by Burna Boy featuring Blxst & Kehalni, and Talibans II by Byron Messia featuring Burna Boy.. All of these song choices have a catchy beat and

Hey y'all! I have more information about my production process. Today the filming process was a lot harder than I thought. I was not able to record at one of the clubs that I attended but that was it. Now, my vision of revealing my busy life is starting to become more difficult than I imagined. However, I am going to keep advancing with my idea. My main goal for this production day was to take some relatable pictures for my commercial. First, I decided to take some pictures with my siblings. I snapped pictures with my siblings separately and together at a wide shot. The wide shot is a type of camera shot that completely shows a character or a group of characters within the frame. I decided to take wide and close up shots with my friends and other activities that I attended. I am not hundred percent certain on using all of these shots and pictures in my actual commercial. Which is why I can not wait to start editing to see the final results of my commercial. Additionally, I record

Hey y'all! I am back with more information about my production process. Today filming was extremely stressful since I had a lot to complete. My goal for this production day was to record  my club life, hobbies, and extra tasks .  I decided to start off with filming during my dance practice for my school's dance team. I asked all of my members on the dance team if they were comfortable with being recorded before doing so. If they were not comfortable with being recorded, I asked them to step out of the camera angle or I recorded when they were not dancing. For the most part, I filmed at eye level for this dance practice. However, the next time I have practice I will try recording at a higher angle to show everything and everyone that wants to be recorded. After that practice was over I recorded at my Chosen dance ministry practice. I asked my leader to record all of us dancing for my commercial and she agreed. She was able to record at a high angle which shows everyone from ab

Hey y'all! Today I have decided to start my production process. I started planning out where and who I wanted to film with. Prior too, I knew that I wanted to film with my siblings and friends. My main focus was the type of angles and shots that I would record. During my planning and researching time, I created  some ideas to match my concept for this commercial. This commercial is supposed to display the chaotic perspective that I have of my life. Similar to a day in my life video. Which is why, I decided to record a tracking shot. The tracking shot follows a subject through a scene and reveals the scenery. One of the ideas that I decided to film, was myself running to class because I do not want to be tardy. I asked one of my friends to record me running or quickly walking to class. This scene was kind of hard to record since I actually did not want to be late to class. However, with filming this shot, I had to record multiple takes. My main desire for this shot was the backgro

Hey y’all! Figuring out what was supposed to be in my commercial was difficult. I know it's supposed to be easy since it's about myself, however it was a challenge. I want my commercial to have a theme that corresponds with my chaotic life. Which is why I made a list of ideas, crossed some out and finally narrowed it down. For my commercial, I want it to show all of the things that I do regularly throughout my life. I started researching on how some companies record their commercials. I searched and watched examples of how they record, what different angles they include, movements and background sounds. One of the commercials that I watched was from the Mountain Dew company. My favorite aspects of this commercial are the suspenseful music and the different shots used. In the commercial that I watched, they included different angles, a story plot to keep the audience interested, and a tracking shot. For my commercial, I know I want to include a tracking shot to show

Hey y'all! Welcome to the blog life of Alivia. Today, I will share some facts and information about me. To start off, I live with both of my parents, sister, brother, and grandmother. Even though they can be annoying, my family is everything to me.  Following, dancing is one of my passions in life. I have been dancing since I could walk, and it's something that gives me joy. I am currently one of the captains of the dance team at my high school, and so far, I am loving it. Not only do I dance at school, but I dance at my church. I go to abundant life church, and I have been attending this church since I was a kid. Additionally, I'm a co-captain of the dance ministry at my church. One thing that I love about dancing is choreographing. With choreographing, there is no wrong or right answer, it just feels natural. Other things that I love about dancing are performing and competing. It feels nice to have the spotlight on me every once and a while. Even though dancing is my li
