Hey y'all! Today is another day of the production process for the music video. I wanted to completely finish all filming for my music video today. I recorded a lot of extra close-up's and wide shots today. I recorded all of these shots in different outfits and hairstyles. I finished filming all of the shots with my grandmothers and my mother. I finished the close-up shots with my prop, in which is my clear glasses. After I was satisfied with all of the shots that I recorded, I decided to start editing. Similarly to what I have stated before, I decided to have my music video start at the beginning of the song. Once I was sure on the timestamp, I started the editing process. Once I added all of the clips, the time exceeded the limit. I knew that I had to cut down on the time for a lot of these clips and add effects. For the first clip in my music video, I added text on the opening clip. The text was the name of the song, called "On My Mama" by Victoria Monet. I decide

\ Hey y'all! Today is another day for my production process. I wanted to start recording the extra scenes that I want to include in my music video. For this reason, I started recording some shots with both my grandmothers and my mother. Originally, I wanted my music video to start in the middle of the song. Although, as the recording process started, I decided that I wanted to start at the beginning of the song. This caused all of my scenes to be different then my storyboard. I changed my idea of my music video to being similar to a 90s girl group type of video. My current idea is now focusing on the lyrics of the song. The song is called "On My Mama" by Victoria Monet. The song talks about how the artist gets certain things and good aspects from her mother. For this reason, I decided to change some of the scenes to include mothers in the music video. I filmed some wide shots and close-ups of the older ladies that I wanted to include in the video. I might record thi

Hey y'all! Today I started another day for my production process. For the costumes, I decided on using the outfit with the white crop top and blue cargo pants. For this scene that I recorded today, I choose to film in the road of the street near my house. I wanted my music video to contain different backgrounds and locations. For this scene I asked my sister to film for me. She recorded a lot of takes of my choreography. She recorded different angles and shots. Some of the shots were wide, medium long, and close-ups. Additionally, I had her record at low level angles and eye-level angles. I want to record this choreography in other locations. The lighting in these shots were not great, so I do want to record that scene again. I might still use that shot but if I get a better recording I will not. Also, I will preferably include two more outfit changes. My goal for the next few production days use to be to record at the skating park and basketball court. I wanted to record some re

Hey y'all! Today I started another day of the production process for my music video. I decided to start on planning the different costume and prop ideas that I want for this video. The first costume idea that I have is a white crop top and blue cargo pants. Another costume idea that I have is an all white dress. In general, I know that whatever clothing that I pick for my outfits, one of the outfits will include cargo pants. I want the overall theme for my outfits to both include fancy and comfortable outfits. I want to see which costumes look better with my settings. For this reason, I decided that tomorrow will be the day that I record in at least one of the costumes. I decided for my props that I want to include glasses. I decided to use my actual glasses as the prop. My actual glasses are clear and match some of my outfits.. Now, either tomorrow or the day after I will test out this prop with choreography. Also, I had a few flags laying around the house that represent differe

Hey y'all! Today I started the production process for my music video. I knew that I needed some extra girls in my video based off the storyboard that I created. The first few scenes that I wanted to record preferably started in a local park. I decided to text some friends from church and my dance team to see who could be in it. A couple of girls agreed but it was hard to come up with dates and times that were comfortable enough for everyone. For this reason, I needed to come up with some new accessible ideas and people. I decided for choreography reasons to only have myself dancing. Now, I just wanted to use the the extra people for other aspects of my music video. Once I figured that out, I realized that if the people that I originally wanted could flake out on me, so can the original setting. This is why I went to the local park that I wanted to record and scoped out the scene. All of the areas of the park seem pretty empty during school hours and more lively on the weekends. I

Hey y'all! Today I completed my storyboard process. This process consists of drawing out each of my scenes for the music video. Now I am going to elaborate on each of the different scene's drawings. Scene 1: This scene would include a close up on a basketball court. Either filmed in front or side view in eye level or low level. Scene 2: This scene shows three to four girls leaning on a basketball court gate. Scene 3: This scene is a tracking shot of these three to four girls walking to the basketball court. Scene 4: This scene is one of the girls turning on the music by pressing on button for the speaker. Scene 5: This scene is on the basketball court, were the choreography will start. Scene 6: This scene shows the three to four girls dancing along the walkway in the park. Scene 7: This scene shows a close up on one of the girls driving away from the park Scene 8: This scene shows a close up on the subjects faces. This will be apart of the choreography. Scene 9: This scen

Hey y'all! Today I am starting the next step for this music video process. Which is the planning phase for my music video. Previously, I stated the song that I will use for my music video is, "On My Mama" by Victoria Monet. As of now, I still want this to be my song choice for my music video. The props that I want to test out and include in my video are fake cash, flags, hats, sunglasses or bags. I am not hundred percent sure on using all of these props since I would like to test them out first. I have decided for my video I will like it to be recorded mainly in a place that has a lot space and free environment. I would most likely record my video at a park, basketball court or beach. I know with producing this music video I will have to create a practicable schedule. Being that, I want to include other people in my music videos and my video will be recorded outside. Which means that I will have to record during the day time on the weekend for the natura

Hey y'all! Today I started my research phase for the music video that is in the process of being made. I decided to observe other music videos that are similar to the genre that I want to imitate. The musical genre that I want my music video to categorized in is a mixture between R&B and Hip-Hop. One of my favorite aspects of any music video is watching the choreography. For this reason, I would love for my music video to include choreography and have a more upbeat tempo. One of the songs that I choose to observe as an example for my music video is, "I'll Be Around" by Cee-Lo, featuring Timbaland. Immediately the first few shots are close up's and the opening movement is a tracking shot. There are some low angles and eye-level angles included in throughout the entire music video. Towards the middle of the song wide shots, medium shots and low angles are being used more. The editing was really simple for this music video since it only included inserts and a act

Hey y'all! Today we are starting a new production process for a music video. I am really excited for this entire process because I love watching music videos. Every aspect about making music videos is elating for me, since it's such a creative process. There are so many elements to a music video such as: the story, dancers, costumes, hair, makeup, setting, and filming.  I feel like this production process will be more stimulating because anything that requires me to be creative is enjoyable. I decided to complete this process on my own since I rather move on my on pace. Having partners would make the workload easier since it can be divided up. However, I rather have the secureness of knowing that I will finish my work accurately when the time comes. Some people might think I am crazy for giving myself more work, although I think taking the easy route is not always the best decision. Now, for my music video song choice, I want it to tell a story. I am not hundred percent sure

Hey y'all! Welcome back to Alivia's blog life . I am starting a new project this time but let me remind you about me.  To start off, I live with both of my parents, sister, brother, and grandmother. Even though they can be annoying, my family is everything to me.  Following, dancing is one of my passions in life. I have been dancing since I could walk, and it's something that gives me joy. I am currently one of the captains of the dance team at my high school, and so far, I am loving it. Not only do I dance at school, but I dance at my church. I go to abundant life church, and I have been attending this church since I was a kid. Additionally, I'm a co-captain of the dance ministry at my church. One thing that I love about dancing is choreographing. With choreographing, there is no wrong or right answer, it just feels natural. Other things that I love about dancing are performing and competing. It feels nice to have the spotlight on me every once and a while. Even thou
