Movie Research: Get Out
Hey y'all! Today I will be researching and analyzing the movie 'Get Out' directed by Jordan Peele:
- What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?
One of the conventions of this genre that I chose is the props that the characters use. There are different props throughout the movie that create symbolize for the movie. For instance, there is a scene where the daughter Rose keeps her White milk separate from her colored cereal and the film closes-up on it. This scene symbolizes how Rose likes keeping things separate.
- What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked?
I like the different costumes throughout this movie. I feel like the costumes help to build the characters and tension throughout the movie. For instance, when the main character of the movie meets the parents of Rose the audience can get like this weird vibe. However, the audience may never get a weird vibe from Rose (who is supposed to be the main character's boyfriend) since her clothing has a vibe of an American girl.
- What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task?
All of the conventions of the genre in this movie appeal to me. I liked how the movie used the different conventions and turned them into metaphors. The only reason why I am thinking of not filming these conventions for my final task is because I might not be able to produce them.
Bye, Pookiees!
