REFLECTION

Throughout this process I have learned abundantly. One of the most intriguing aspects about film where the different angles and shots that I learned how to film. My favorite angle to record from was a high angle and my favorite shot to record was the two-shot. Trying to film different angles for this project was honestly an amazing experience. Even though, I was not able to accurately execute some of the shots that I wanted to record, I still enjoyed the results of my project. I knew before I started this process what editing software that I was going to use. Knowing what editing software that I would use beforehand was a lifesaver. It allowed the actually filming process to be my primary focus and not have to waste time testing a variety of editing software’s. The editing software that I used was CapCut. I already knew how to use this software, but I did have to learn how to do certain things. I learned how to add transitions and insert items into my project. This is a useful skill that I learned that I could use for the future.

With putting everything together I learned more about planning for an entire production. I feel like the pre-production part of the process is the most essential. I started off trying to record scenes without having an initial plan. This caused everything to be much harder than it actually was. After realizing that planning was a vital tool towards the succession of this production process, I came up with my concept for the production. Now, that I figured out my idea, I was able to come up with shots, angles and movements that correlated with it. In which help these aspects correspond with my idea made the editing process a lot easier as well. The editing process was easier since I knew the order of the scenes, where I wanted to put them, and the type of effects to use. I learned a lot during this entire process but learning to plan before was extremely significant for me.

I honestly think this project was satisfactory. Although, I do think there are improvements that need to be made. For my next project, I will immediately start off with planning out everything.  I will plan out the costumes, background scenery, angles, movements, and shots. This will allow my project to be a lot better than this time and create little to no stress. Also,  spending more time on trying to get each shot right would be beneficial for my next project. I feel like in my last project, there were some shots that did not complete match what I was trying to record. Also, there were scenes that recorded where the shots did not even match the type of shot that I was trying to create. Overall, this project requires planning, time, and effort to successfully create this project. Which is why I will focus on those requirements for the next project during the production process.
