Production Blog

Hey y'all! Today I have the last bit of information about my production process. My goal for this production day was to start and finish the editing process. First, I recorded some retakes and extra clips that I might need for my commercial.  I decided to rerecord some scenes with my friends. Additionally, I recorded some fun, random moments throughout my day. After I felt satisfied with all of the footage that I recorded then I moved on to the editing process. Before I started editing, I decided to choose my background song. I made a list of possible choices, crossed some out and choose my final three. I decided that I was not going to make a definite decision on my background song choice until my commercial is completely finished. My final three song choices are 'Sittin' On Top Of The World' by Burna Boy, 'Solid' by Burna Boy featuring Blxst & Kehalni, and Talibans II by Byron Messia featuring Burna Boy.. All of these song choices have a catchy beat and fast rhythm to go with my central theme of the commercial. Which is why I might utilize all of the songs or choose just one. Now, on the editing process. I started my commercial with a fade in and I am going to put a fade out at the last scene. The fade in allows the audience to ease into the imagery of the scene rather than see a blunt cut for the opening scene. Throughout my editing process I added an insert and dissolving transitions. Also, I tested out a cutaway transition, but I did not like how it looked for the scene I tried. Which caused me to remove it and try a split screen. The split screen was my favorite editing technique since it allows the audience and myself to see two different pieces of film at the same time. I still have some more bits of pieces to fix but I am happy with my current results. I cannot wait for you all to see it! Well, that is it for today!

Bye, Pookieees!
